before the Grimm brothers thought-up snow white, there was Freya. now i'm not exactly 100% on the myth, but here's what i remembered from it, Freya was a norse goddess who inspired the making of snow white.

She was the goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. she was obssessed about getting the brisingamen necklace guarded by dwarves. the brisingamen necklace was said to be the most precious, brightest, biggest necklace there ever was, that's why Freya just had to have it. so she journeyed down the mines were the dwarves were often found. but the necklace was unobtainable even to a powerful goddess such as she. she offered the dwarves many things, and treasures, even servants, now the dwarves were not used to seeing such a beauty, and since they're the only ones who can get the brisingamen necklace they made a bargain with Freya.

the bargain was that she lived with them for a while and that she make love to them. a different dwarf for a different night. blinded by the beauty of the necklace, Freya accepted. so she did as she promised, and got the necklace.

yah, who woulda thought, snow white was a gold-digging, hi-Ho. hahah!!

makes you think how OFF the disney versions really are from the real things, but then again, the real thing aren't exactly good for kids.
